The soft glow of Christmas lights in her own home surrounded by her family is what Jennifer is looking forward to the most on Graduation Day. Referred by Family Treatment Courts, Jennifer had some hefty goals during her time at Second Step Housing. With guidance from her Housing Specialist, Ryan, Jennifer can now call herself a graduate of the Second Step Housing Transitional Program.
“I am super excited! I can’t wait to go build the dream I always wanted to live. My family is back together! I can decorate my own house. I don’t have to settle anymore.”
These days Jennifer is definitely not settling. She has a full-time job. She is clean and sober. Her fines are paid, and her driver’s license is reinstated. Her family is reunited and just in time for the holidays, they are moving into a permanent home.
“I learned that if you’re willing to put in the work, good things will happen. You see that people will go to bat for you, support you and hold you accountable. That is what I needed.” ~Jennifer
